For years, veteran Sioux Falls sportswriter Matt Zimmer and long-time area sportscaster John Gaskins used to sit around at a bar, drink beer, insult each other, get a little buzzed, and talk about the most compelling sports stories and sports figures in South Dakota — plus some Vikings, Twins, national sports, and things like wearing sweatpants in public, who's the hottest Golden Girl, the best baseball movies of all time, getting old, getting fat, and music that Matt thinks is overrated.
Occasionally, they'd argue. Usually, they'd make each other laugh. But nobody was listening. Now, they record these conversations, because perhaps they're worth listening to. But they still talk like nobody's listening anyway.
