It’s obvious that a goalie isn’t going to win the Stanley Cup Final for either team. Vegas takes Game 1, 5-4.

Interesting to see how KAT does against Wemby tonight in Game 1…

Wild lose scouting guru Judd Brackett. He hit a lot of home runs with first-round picks, which led to being able to acquire Quinn Hughes. His second-round record, though, not so great. Could be an upheaval of scouts this summer.

Texas and Texas Tech renew acquaintances in the Women’s College World Series final tonight. Best-of-three.

Twins Take First Two Against White Sox

The bottom three hitters in the Twins lineup each had two hits against stud Davis Martin, as Minnesota rallied for a 6-4 win over the White Sox last night at Target Field. The Twins go for the series sweep with a matinee today, with Taj Bradley on the hill.

Luke Keaschall, Tristan Gray and Alex Jackson each had two hits against Martin, who lost for just the second time this season and entered the game sixth in the majors with a 2.00 ERA.

Minnesota pitchers struck out 14 White Sox, including seven from starter Connor Prielipp. He pitched into the seventh, and the relievers shut the door for the second straight night.

Royce Lewis, by the way, hit two homers in St. Paul last night. He’s got six in nine games with the Saints, and appears to have figured things out.

Lynx Rip Phoenix by 34 to Open Commissioner’s Cup

The Lynx remained unbeaten on the road and atop the WNBA standings, just obliterating Phoenix 111-77 on Monday night. It marked the league’s largest margin of victory this season, and opened the Commissioner’s Cup, which ends in cash prizes.

Maybe the key to Courtney Williams playing under control was to get her an actual point guard to play alongside her? Williams scored 30 points - she missed only seven shots - against the 2-8 Mercury. The aforementioned point guard is blossoming into a star in front of our own eyes - 19 points, nine assists, four rebounds, and yes the four turnovers. She’s amazingly fun to watch. Just wait till Phee gets back.

The Lynx signed veteran Teaira McCowan to bolster the inside game - she’s got 10 rebounds in her first two games.

Minnesota returns home to face Golden State tomorrow on Prime.
